Some IMG customizing activities are protected against modification in all but customizing system/client. But there might be activities that consultants need to perform directly in the production system without transporting the change though all the systems.
This is usually available only for limited list of specific activities for which the need of transport every time it’s changed would make the process cumbersome and inflexible (example: currency rates update, which is performed on daily basis).
Normally, this should not be used as workaround for injecting the customizing. It brings inconsistency between systems and changes are not controlled.
In the following screenshots I’ll show you how to enable an IMG activity which is normally under transport control, to be allowed for editing directly in the production system without a need for transport.
- Navigate to the IMG activity you want to have without transport, in the top menu go to Edit -> Display IMG Activity
- Select tab Maint.objects and double-click on line with object you want to have without transport request
- Set checkbox “Current Settings” and Save
Luckily, it’s not easy to hack the system this way since the IMG object setup (checkbox Current settings) has to be transported to following systems at least initially and then it is something that should be approved by someone.
??
Is it correct that this solution requires an object key to be entered?
